The vision of the Maitland Liquor Accord Inc. is to be the principal forum through which community-driven strategies for managing the sale and consumption of alcohol are realised. We strive to develop realistic solutions to local problems.
We believe that a coordinated and cooperative approach to managing alcohol consumption and the effect of alcohol consumption (particularly excessive alcohol consumption), by Licensees, Police, OLGR, the local Council, local businesses and Government departments, together with the residents of an area, will deliver the best outcome for all parties.
This philosophy is based upon the underlying principle that alcohol and alcohol related issues are best addressed through coordinated actions, principally of a cooperative nature between all groups whether involved in the supply or regulation of alcohol.
We serve our members by providing the means for the local industry to demonstrate their commitment to principles of responsible supply of alcohol and harm minimisation.
We serve the community by developing best practice management in our member venues, and by delivering innovative patron education and venue management strategies.
We work together to make the licensed premises of Maitland safer and more enjoyable for the community.
